Transportation Department

What We Do

The Osage Beach Transportation Department works diligently to make sure the City's streets are clean and well-maintained, but that's not all we do.

  • Each fall, the department organizes a courtesy leaf collection program to vacuum up leaves along publicly owned roadways. The program usually begins around Thanksgiving and wraps up by the end of the year.
  • Visit Leaf Collection to see the schedule and check your address on the map.
  • The leaves are taken to Public Works and recycled into the City's compost pile, which is free for all residents. We'll even help load it during business hours!
  • On the heels of leaf collection is the threat of impending winter weather. The department is on call during snowstorms to clear roadways of snow and ice as quickly as possible.
  • Visit Winter Weather Operations to see how streets are prioritized and get answers to other questions about snowplowing.

Transportation Department What We Do

Public vs. private streets

An easy way to tell if your street is maintained by Public Works is the color of your street sign. The Transportation Department manages public streets marked with green signs, not private drives with blue signs.

The City is made up of nearly 40 miles of public paved streets, four miles of sidewalks, thousands of street signs and more than 500 streetlights. We take care of it all, plus the surrounding vegetation and ground cover.

Report an Issue

Urgent issues should be called in directly to the Public Works Office, but residents can also use the Fix It Form to report non-critical issues. Reports submitted via the Fix It Form may not be addressed until the next business day.
