Pay & Compensation

The City of Osage Beach maintains an employment classification and compensation system that assists in recruiting, retaining, and rewarding qualified employees. This system establishes wage and salary ranges that are competitive with the labor market for all non-elected employment positions. 

Pay adjustment benefits for City employees include:

  • Merit increases based on periodic performance evaluations.
  • 3% increase upon successful completion of probationary period.
  • Overtime/comp time for non-exempt employee work in excess of standard workweek as regulated by the Fair Labor Standards Act.
  • Flex time or the temporary altering of workweek to maintain standard workweek.
  • Tuition reimbursement for job-related course work for degree-seeking employees (service obligations apply).
  • Education incentive pay for degrees, certifications, or training in addition to those required for the job.
  • Travel & expense reimbursements for continued training authorized for business.

Leave Benefits

Vacation 

  • One week of vacation is awarded at time of hire and on first anniversary of service.
  • Up to five weeks based on length of service.

Personal

  • Full-time employees accrue paid leave equal to one standard workday on a monthly basis.

Health, Dental & Vision Insurance

  • Health, short-term disability, and group life coverage are offered at no cost to the employee.
  • Dental and vision coverage is available to full-time employees at a discounted rate.
  • Health, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage is offered to dependents of full-time employees at up to a 90% discounted rate.
  • Full-time employees with existing coverage who opt out of the City’s health insurance program may qualify for an incentive equal to 40% of the cost of single-employee coverage to be paid out evenly over the year’s pay periods.
  • City-funded HSA contributions of $75 or $150 per month depending on elected health plan coverage.
  • Cafeteria Plan - additional supplemental insurance policies available with American Fidelity through automatic payroll deductions (i.e. accident, cancer, major medical, intensive care, additional short-term disability).

Retirement

  • The City contributes 7% of full-time employee’s gross wages to a 401(a) with no match requirement as well as up to an additional 3% employee 457(b) contribution match to the 401(a) plan with a 5-year vesting period.
  • Additional voluntary 457 Deferred Compensation plans and/or Roth IRA plans are available to full-time employees.
  • 401a funds are eligible for loans and in-service withdrawals.
